Alder Room

The Alder Room is named for Mrs. W. W. Alder who was Chairman of the location committee for this building. This room has puncheon board floors, pine paneled walls and most furniture is maple. The draperies are of Early American print fabric with a portrait of George Washington hanging over the fireplace. Among the furnishings are two corner maple cupboards and a maple hutch with a collection of pewter. The light fixtures are pewter and iron. Hooked rugs are spread on the floor. A hand-made iron teakettle hangs on the crane in the fireplace with its black andirons and fire set of wrought iron. There is a maple loveseat, a maple three cornered table with three drop leaves, and a knotty pine trestle table. One ladder-back chair, one bentwood-back chair, and seventeen English Windsor style chairs complete the furnishings. This room will accommodate twenty to twenty-five persons and can be used for meetings or luncheons.
