“Revisiting Christmas Days Past” at Duncan Hall
Several Lafayette interior designers will be
volunteering their time and their skills to make Duncan Hall at 619 Ferry
St. an even more beautiful place to visit or hold an event this holiday
season. In harmony with the hall’s elegant, historic ambiance, these
artists will design within the theme “Revisiting Christmas Days Past.”
The new look will be revealed for the first time
during the Downtown Lafayette’s Dickens of a Christmas celebration on
Saturday, December 1 from 10 AM to 6 PM.
The public will be invited to vote for their
favorite design. The winning designer will have have chosen a
not-for-profit organization which may then use Duncan Hall for a
fundraising or other event. The hall will be open for tours and voting
Mondays and Thursdays, 4 to 6 pm, December 3 through 28.
The designers include:
Stephen Clawson (423-5302) of Roth’s Flowers in the Thomas Duncan
Room. His organization is The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana.

Anne Brooks and Madonna Compton of Butternut Hill (429-5067) in the
Shambaugh Room. Their organization is The Lafayette Crisis Center.

Bertie Buchanan and Barbara Lauer of Buchanan Designs (742-7400) in
t he Foyer and landing. Their organization is The American Heart

Jan Wright and Jayne McCliment of 1st Class Clutter and Sweet Lily
Designs (429-5758 The Victorian Tea Room. Their organization is The
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

On December 1, from 3 to 5PM, children are welcome to come visit Mr. and
Mrs. Claus. Photos will be available from Anne Brisco of Anne’s
Photographs.
Beautiful music will be provided throughout that day by pianists: Cheryl
Kaldahl, (10 AM to 12 PM), Lisa Drake (1 PM to 3PM) and Yen Lee Loh (from
3PM to 5 PM).
Kathy’s Homemade Kandies and McCord’s Candies will be donating special
treats for the occasion. Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will also be
