Cheryl Kaldahl and Rena Brouwer collaborate for COLOR: MUSIC TO MY EARS

Join award winning artists Cheryl Kaldahl (info@kaldahlstudios.com 765.83.3221) and Rena Brouwer (rena@renabrouwer.com  765.589.3115) as they present  a pioneering exploration of color and music.  Audience members will be invited to experience this unique creative process first hand. In this watercolor, mixed media and music exhibit,  Color: Music to my Ears, each painting by the artists will be sold with its accompanying  original musical composition written and performed by Cheryl Kaldahl. Enjoy an engaging encore performance by the Bach Chorale Singers. Also offered will be tours of the art and architecture of Historic Duncan Hall as well as Sweet and Savory treats and Dreamscicle Punch.




Manners, Style and Fun will we brought together at Styling with Manners at Duncan Hall on Tuesday August 5.  The fundraiser includes a delicious luncheon as well as an upbeat, Musical Manners presentation.  Fashions for children, teens and adults will be shown by local businesses JF and CO Boutique (contact Michelle Andrew at 404-4690) and Francesca’s (Contact Jennifer at 446-1878).


This event is a fundraiser for Duncan Hall, whose mission, in part, is to promote citizenship, civility and character through educational programs.  Their interactive Fun with Manners program has been presented to area schoolchildren for over a decade.

 The Art of Photography

A six week introduction to photography class, The Art of Photography, will be held at Duncan Hall on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, beginning May 13. Award winning photographer, Jim Alkire, will teach composition, lighting, and the art of seeing using digital or film, color or black and white.

Emphasis will be on classic silver or gelatin prints (black and white) the most beautiful of all photography in Alkire’s opinion.

Attend this class and learn how to make money with your photography without owning a studio.

The fee for the class, $60.00 for the six weeks, will go to support Duncan Hall preservation and programs. Class enrollment is limited. To reserve your space in the class please call (765) 742-4788. The contest is open to amateurs and professionals, of any age. Use your digital or film camera to shoot the inside and outside of the building on May 3.
